What we believe
We believe, teach, and confess…
Confessional Lutheranism means we believe, teach, and confess that all Scripture (Genesis through Revelation) is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.
The Scripture is divided into 66 books, 39 books from the Old Testament, all pointing toward the coming of the Christ. 27 books from the New Testament, teaching us of the life of Christ and carrying His Good News to the world.
In addition to the Scriptures, we confess The Book of Concord of 1580 to be an accurate and correct exposition of the teachings of the Bible.
The version of the Bible used most frequently in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod is, The Holy Bible, English Standard Version [ESV], © 2001 by Crossway’s Bibles, a division of Good News Publishers.
Our communion statement reads, “We believe that Jesus Christ’s body and blood are truly in, with and under the bread and wine in communion because of this each person must prepare themselves and come correctly to the Lord’s Table. If you are not a member please speak to the pastor or the elders before taking communion.” We take these beliefs very seriously and ask that if you are going to join us for communion please see the pastor or one of the elders.
For more information about our Lutheran Faith, we suggest you read Luther’s Small Catechism, available through the Church office or Concordia Publishing House.
